Teaching and Learning

Curriculum Highlights

We adopt various learning and teaching approaches such as collaborative learning, higher-order thinking skills and exploratory learning to motivate students and maximise teaching effectiveness.

Chinese

Our Chinese Language curriculum has placed equal emphasis on developing students’ language ability, fostering their positive values and attitudes, and enriching their knowledge of Chinese literature and culture. Our goal is to strengthen students’ language skills and enable them to gain a good understanding of the magnificent Chinese culture, as well as the moral, affective and aesthetic elements contained therein.

English

We provide our students with a rich English language learning environment by making full use of the time and resources both inside and outside the classroom. A variety of fun and engaging activities are held on English Speaking Day and other festive occasions to help students develop their English language skills through games and hands-on activities.

Mathematics

Our teachers use real-life examples, incorporate games and puzzles and make use of technology to arouse students’ interest in the subject. The emphasis of our curriculum is placed in helping students to build up mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.

General Studies

We strive to implement experiential learning and project learning in General Studies. Students are encouraged to learn with an exploratory approach in our school-based project learning activities.

STEAM

Our school-based STEAM curriculum integrates science, technology, engineering, the arts, and maths subject knowledge to enable our students to create deeper understanding and solve real world problems through meaningful and engaged learning.  Generic skills, values and attitudes permeate through various levels of learning, ensuring the vertical continuity and lateral coherence of the curriculum.

Reading across the Curriculum / Reading to Learn

We provide plenty of opportunities for students to develop a wide range of reading skills, extend their content learning, and connect their learning experiences across the key learning areas.
