Happy Bookish Halloween

In October, SAWOO became a spookily exciting place as we celebrated our Happy Bookish Halloween Day! This year, we combined our students' love for reading English books with the festive Halloween theme. They were invited to bring in their favorite English book and dress up as a beloved book character. It was a sight to behold, with students transforming into so many different characters! We also had a book sharing competition, where students created some amazing videos talking about their favourite book. During recess time, students could choose from several fun game booths where they could test their English skills and win fantastic prizes. This special blend of Halloween and literature created an enchanting atmosphere, fostering a love for reading while celebrating the spirit of Halloween.

P.1 Activity Day – Cake Making

During the first term of school, P.1 students were treated to a day of baking fun with Miss Yasmin! With the aid of some wonderful helpers and the encouragement of our supportive parent-audience, all of the students were able to follow the steps and produce a delicious chocolate cake! Having previously learnt all about cake making during their PLP-R/W lessons, this activity provided an excellent opportunity for students to apply their knowledge of target vocabulary, language structures and procedural texts in a real-life context. Students then put their public speaking skills to the test and concluded the session with some fantastic presentations. Everyone left with a slice of cake and a big smile on their face. Great job P.1!
